Terrace held their third annual Kidney Walk on Sunday, August 19th at Lakelse Lake. The purpose of the walk was to raise awareness of Kidney Disease, encourage people to register as donors and raise money.
“There was probably close to 100 [walkers], said” Joan Iamele. “[the route] goes through the twin spruce trails so they head out from the beach, there is a half way mark and there is a full walk if you want to do the whole area.”
In addition, the Terrace Dragonboat was out taking people on the lake.
Fundraising was also being raised for the Kidney Foundation. The funding goes towards research, the patients and for Kidney houses; a camp for kids. There are 400 people who are currently waiting for a kidney.
Iamele would like to thank all the sponsors and the volunteers for supporting them this year.
