Fishers and Farmers in Gaza, Palestine are under siege. Palestinian fishers face Israeli gunboats as they seek to fish their traditional waters. In the past 5 years, 85% of Gaza's fishery has been lost to the military occupation, driving tens of thousands into poverty.
Gaza's farmers have seen 35% of their farmland declared a "no go zone' and risk death from Israeli snipers and tank fire every time they harvest or plant.
Palestine's Union of Agricultural Work Committees has called for international action to support the fishers and farmers-while Canada's government openly supports Israel's occupation and the Gaza siege. Join us in protest at 1 p.m. Sunday September 30 at the Vancouver Art Gallery. Why not hold a Terrace/Rupert event in support?
