Terrace SAR
Terrace Search & Rescue is comprised of disciplines which conduct SAR responses for the RCMP, BC Ambulance, and the BC Corners Service. Many team members hold advanced disciplines such as Rope Rescue Team Member, Swiftwater Rescue Technician, Avalanche Response Team member, and Ice Rescue Technician.

All Team members are volunteers and receive the following benefits:

- Occupational First Aid Level 1 and CPR C Training
- Justice Institute of British Columbia Training Courses
- WCB Coverage during task
- Life Insurance and AD& D Coverage

People interested in Joining Terrace Search and Rescue must complete the Ground Search and Rescue (GSAR) Course. The course consists of over 100 hours of training and will teach a variety of skills including:

- Map & Compass,
- Wilderness Survival
- Avalanche awareness
- Search tactics
- Helicopter Safety
- Man Tracking

People seeking to join Terrace Search and Rescue are encouraged to attend a New Members Meeting on: Thursday, September 13, 2012 - at 6:30 PM - for 1 hour.

Course Starts on Monday, September 17, 2012 in the Terrace SAR Hall (4524 Greig Ave) at 6:30 PM and lasts 3 hours

This will be an excellent opportunity to contribute to your community, meet new people, and learn new skills.
