The Terrace Crime Reduction Unit teamed up with the residents in the 4800 block of Haugland Ave and Sunset Dr to shut down a very active crack house in their neighborhood this week.

"This is a clear example of how effective having the cooperation of the community is,"says Cst James Lauriault, Crime Reduction Unit.

Numerous Crime Stopper’s tips led police to a residence in the 4800 block of Sunset Dr. The tips described the operations of a flop house also operating as an active crack house. Police solicited the help of the neighbors, asking them to report all suspicious occurrence and illegal activity. Lines of communication were opened with the owner of the residence and family.

Police were also persistent in the enforcement of municipal bylaws. A community united and police intervention proved to be too much and the residents of the house moved out.
