NEWS RELEASE · 20th October 2012
Defend Our Coast
People are coming together like never before to protect BC’s coast from tar sands pipelines and tankers.

First Nations leaders have formed an “unbroken wall of opposition” to the Enbridge pipeline and tanker plan. A majority of British Columbians are opposed to tanker traffic expansion, and the Union of BC Municipalities and 20 individual local governments have called for a tanker expansion ban.

Still, our federal government is trying to ram the tar sands pipelines through local opposition, and the BC government is sitting on the fence.

We need to send a powerful message now to make sure that BC’s coast is protected.

On Monday, October 22nd hundreds will join together at the B.C. legislature in Victoria to protest tar sands pipelines and tankers.

Then, on Wednesday, October 24th, we’ll link arms in front of MLA offices across BC to symbolize the unbroken wall of opposition across the province, and say “Defend our Coast” with banners.

Times for Northern Gateway Protest?
Comment by barryeng on 22nd October 2012
There seems to be some confusion on times for this protest (In front of the MLA's office) Is it at noon wednesday, or 4:30 PM Wednesday?
