In a Journey from the Sacred Circle; Gitxsan, Tsimshian, Haisla and Tahltan representatives came on mass as a united force to join hands with others at the DEFEND OUR COAST gathering at the BC Legislature on October 22, 2012.

The day earlier they presented themselves at the University of Victoria Student Union Building and the following Wednesday stood with the residents at MLA Leonard Krogs office in Nanaimo.

This hour and a half production is a small sampling of the travels and presentations delivered. CLICK HERE TO WATCH.

The entire adventure was a show of force of the unification of the Hereditary Chiefs and Elders who honour the traditional culture of the Sacred Circle; matrilineal, matriarchal system of governance of the Gitxsan, Tahltan, Haisla, Tsimshian, Nisga'a, We'tsewet'en, Haida and Tlingit. The honour of the clan system as practiced in the Tsimshian Village of Kitkatla during their elections; Eagles, Ravens, Killerwhale, Wolf, and in others the Beaver, Fireweed, Crow, Frog and more.

It was such a show of united force the entire crowd of over 4000 (maybe a full 5000) watching these Elders and Chiefs enter the legislature grounds drumming and singing started screaming, crying, clapping and chanting for a full twenty minutes.

It was an experience never to be forgotten. It was a demonstration of the power and joy a united people can produce.
