Update - Video Attached
Today the Enbridge hearings reconvene in Prince Rupert to discuss marine issues with their pipeline/s and tanker project. The hearings will go on all week until Dec 17th. They are open to the public so please come down and listen in if you can. They essentially go from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm daily and you can pop in and out as you wish.
We are also holding a rally at 12 noon called the "Disappearing islands" rally.
On Enbridge's website they have an animation depicting Douglas Channel as a wide open channel. They "photoshopped" out over a dozen islands to make it look like a wide open space. After our protests to remove the animation for false advertising, Enbridge recently added a disclaimer to their animation saying it was representational and not to scale. Representational? They even removed Gil island, the island that the Queen of North ferry struck and then sank. You can view it here
. Watch a short compilation video of the Enbridge fake graphic with actual Google Earth images by opening the attached file (just below the pictures).
If you can make it please some and show your solidarity at the rally which is scheduled for 12 noon just outside the Chances (casino) convention centre (lower level) .
Enbridge may make the islands disappear but they can't make the people disappear.
