Kamloops RCMP Major Crime members continue to investigate the homicide of 16-year-old C.J. Fowler and today have released a surveillance photo of CJ Fowler in hopes the image may spark new information from the public regarding where CJ may have gone during the last hours before her death.
The image of Fowler was taken before she left Royal Inland Hospital at 2:54 AM on December 5th. CJ's body was located near the end of Grandview Terrace at approximately 11:30 AM that same day and based on evidence derived in the ongoing investigation, police believe that she was murdered before dawn on December the 5th. On December 13th, 2012, CJ’s parents came to Kamloops where they met with major crime investigators and later attended the site where her body was discovered. They took part in a private prayer ceremony with family members, close friends, a spiritual counselor, the Chief of the Kamloops Indian Band and a representative of the Assembly of First Nations.
Members of the RCMP investigative team shared the privilege of being present during this sacred ceremony to release CJ's spirit from the place where her life was taken.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, CJ’s mother and father renewed their plea for public assistance and asked anyone who may have been out in the early morning hours of December 5th and who may have seen or had contact with CJ to please come forward with their information.
They asked that everyone view the attached photograph showing the clothing that CJ was wearing when she was last seen before she was murdered. The family and police investigators want to hear from anyone who may have seen CJ between the Royal Inland Hospital and where she was found in the ravine at the end of Grandview Terrace.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Kamloops Detachment at 250-828-3000 or Crimestoppers.
