Just to clarify ... federal court
Comment by Maureen on 10th January 2013
Just to clarify for the poster who stated the supreme court ... this was a federal court not the supreme court on the ruling of non status and Metis. This decision could easily be appealed by the harper gov. and then off to the supreme court we go ... yet another 5-7 years before a definative ruling.
Duty to consult today supreme court ruling!
Comment by Kitsumkalum Member on 8th January 2013

Today supreme court ruling 600 thousand Indians from Meti to Non Status Indians are now legal Indians.

The government has duty to consult with Indians, before any legeslation such as Bill C 45.

This also includes all Natural Resource Development on Indian Land.

The government has billions of dollars to trillion dollars (Private Sector Mining - Oil and Gas - Real estate) all the way back to 18 the century when Indian lands were sold.

So the Industry Boom! Is now a industry fizz!

Idle No More!

Pam Palmater says it is her opinion that
"The Canadian Government, currently run by an extreme right wing religious zealot (not unlike a Islamic Jihadist), ..."
With rhetoric like that it is hard to support any of her views. Properly elected officials deserve more respect than that.
i strongly support the GUM objectives. IDNM
will have to work harder to gain my respect and blocking trains and roads wont do it.
