NEWS RELEASE · 13th March 2013
Heather Prisk
In an effort to raise more awareness regarding the abuse by some members of the forces, we have arranged a march from the Terrace RCMP Detachment on Eby Street to the Courthouse on Kalum Street.

Join us at 12 O'clock noon on Friday March 15 at the Terrace RCMP Detachment as we begin our rally and prepare to walk through Terrace to the Provincial Courthouse.

There have been many recent accounts of unnecessary injuries, arrests and incarcerations. The most recent disturbing allegations came to light with the Human Rights Watch report regarding the treatment of indigenous women and men from our nothern region. This follows the extensive report by the BCCLA called Small Town Justice. And just last week the Canadian Parliament was delivered another report which detailed how indigenous women are the highest identifiable per capita group incarcerated.

MP demands answers

We need to keep this issue alive, keep our fellow citizens aware of the very serious assaults on our most vulnerable neighbours. We need to ensure the serious injuries inflicted on citizens while in police "protective" custodyare not forgotten.

Please tell your friends, share of facebook and twitter, and join us for this peaceful and respectful memorial walk through Terrace.

For those still alive suffering serious brain injuries and psychological damage, for those incarcerated today, and for those missing and murdered women who still have not received justice.
