Heritage Park Museum
See you from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Heritage Park Museum on Monday, July first to celebrate Canada's 146th birthday!
Our larger-than-ever-before silent auction features helicopter rides, Hawkair flights, gift certificates from many, many local businesses, plants, and original art. Bids have been taking place over the last week on our Facebook page (facebook.com/heritageparkmuseum). Final bidding will take place in the Dance Hall throughout the celebrations, right until 4:00 p.m.
Northwest Therapeutic Equestrian Association is offering by-donation horse rides. Skeena Skiffle, Sunset Riders, and Steve Little will headline our musical stage. Enjoy a performance by the Xbisunnt Tsimshian dancers and eat multicultural food, including Café Zesta and Nisga’a Tacos. The Terrace Nisga'a Elders are even hosting a salmon barbecue! To celebrate our community’s diverse heritage, there will be historic demonstrations ranging from blacksmithing to horse logging to gold panning. In addition, each of the museum buildings will be open to display art exhibitions as part of the Summer Arts Festival. JJ will be doing chainsaw carving, and there will be a community chalkboard for people to muse about what Terrace is and means.
Admission is free or by donation. The event is open to everyone is taking place rain or shine from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, July 1st.
