Today’s announcement that West Jet Encore will launch twice-daily, non-stop service between Vancouver and Terrace starting in November is good news for all air travelers and another sign of the booming economy of the Northwest, says Nathan Cullen.
“Vibrant airports are a critical service in helping to drive an area’s economy and it’s always good to see solid expansion,” Cullen said following the afternoon announcement.
Cullen noted the new 6:00 am departure to Vancouver will especially benefit people travelling for business and medical appointments.
West Jet is entering the Northwest market with one-way fares that could lead to competitive price drops by other airlines, at least in the short term, he said.
WestJet offers scheduled service to 87 destinations in North America, Central America and the Caribbean. The company launched its new regional airline, WestJet Encore, earlier in 2013.
