Mr Oliver
Minister of Finance

Earlier this year I asked the previous minister of finance if he had made arrangements to budget for the increasing number of Canadian Corporations which have Incorporated in Delaware USA and which are using NAFTA to demand money from Canada for perceived lost profits, or in the case of Abatibi Bowater just plain greed by a bankrupt Canadian company incorporated very conveniently in Delaware. $130 million you gave them, without fuss. Considerably more than the Liberal sponsorship deal costs the country including the cost of the enquiry, but you never talk about that Abitibi payment do you?
Flaherty did not reply and as far as I can tell he made no allowance for these claims.

You are facing one that will probably quadruple our national debt, and certainly make a balanced budget an absolute impossibility rather the total shill game it is under this administration, completely devoid of economists as you are.

Enbridge has a multiple of corporations within its group, anyone of which can be used to make a claim against Canada on the Northern Gateway Pipe line and lost profits should it not go ahead. Your administration's fixing of the review panel's findings and the acceptance of that report by the cabinet has started a financial ball rolling that you will have trouble stopping.

Your administration cabinet has given the pipe line the go ahead in spite of the B C First Nations solid wall of resistance and 70% of the other people of BC saying "no" loudly and clearly, but your leader is deaf to those voices. In his words of 2006 in which he claimed that we will not recognise Canada when he is through with it he actually warned us that he would "destroy" the Canada we knew. The fraudulent election of 2011 gave him that opportunity.

I can see no recourse for you except to immediately withdraw from NAFTA and any other investment trade deal Canada has with any country that Enbridge has companies in because they all have that Chapter 11 clause in them.

BC faces the same problem with TILMA, now known as the New West Partnership Trade Agreement (NWPTA) with the same lost profits claim clause, so you can be sure Enbridge will also attack BC and get as much from BC as it can.

If I was the CEO of that corporation I would be rubbing my hands and counting my immense bonuses, and thanking Stephen Harper for being such a good little man.

So, Mr Oliver, what are you going to do about it?

ps: you might observe that I didn't bother to send a copy to Harper as he doesn't pay any attention to the people of Canada anyway.
