REPORTING · 21st February 2010
It is Family Fun Weekend at Shames Mountain and the weather is spectacular. Not a cloud in the sky and the temperature is expected to reach 10 degrees by noon. HawkAir is hosting Family Fun Weekends and today is one of those days. The barbeque is open on the deck with $3.00 burgers and smokies. Dogs are $2 bucks. Ski and Board packages with lessons are only 54.95 and HawkAir has a contest for a family pass for four; two adults and two children; enter at Shames every weekend for the grand prize on March 21st.
The Shameys contest also continues until the end of the month; the great mountain treasure hunt. Look for one of the five dropped somewhere on the mountain and you might win a new snowboard.
Every Wednesday through Sunday there will be five shameys dropped on various runs. Find a shamey and you win a prize. When you redeem for your prize you will be entered into the draw for the grand prize which is to be drawn on Feb 28 at 4 pm.
Even if you do not Ski, there is a great environment to enjoy under the clear blue sky and the towering white peaks of the Coast Mountains.
The question you need to ask yourself is why are you reading this and not out at Shames enjoying the company and the environment. This is the best spring skiing possible and it is only February.
