REPORTING · 25th March 2010
The voting is done and the counting continues as the final tally is compiled from the various voting stations.
In New Aiyansh the electoral staff were busy counting the ballots behind closed doors until approximately 11 pm. After all was done not one would give a hint if there would be a front runner or an obvious landslide coming, all were tight lipped.
The final tally is expected sometime tomorrow.
A short video of the open and honest count as it was taking place can be watched [HERE]. At the request of the Elections officials we have removed this short video.
Basketball was in full swing while the count was taking place and just like this shot, no matter who wins the Nisga'a will score.
The new President will walk through this entrance into the New Aiyansh offices of the Nisga'a Lisims Government.

you should be very ashamed of yourself for posting a youtube video on the election results of the 2010 presidential byelection.
You believe yourself to be superior over first nations people by doing this, you've ruined democracy and the right to privacy and secrecy to first nations people, your posting this on your website ruined your credibility to be a good reporter for your company. Who ever supplied this video, should be utterly ashamed of themselves, how can you treat the Nisga'a Nation in this manner? with such disrespect? The Nisga'a nation fought for self government and canadian recognition for 113 years, only for you to one day come along and assist other people who've supplied this video to you illegally, and ruin democratic rights. We are not people who are cheap, we are not people who deserve to be treated with such disrespect like this, the nation deserves an apology from you and those who assisted in the provision of the video in this news article, very shameful. I have always taken a stand for our peoples democratic rights, what rights have you to do this to us? none whatsoever!
