Jim Mackenzie selling tickets at Canadian Tire for the 24th Annual Riverboat Raffle hosted by the Kinsmen Club of Terrace
REPORTING · 19th April 2010
Merv Ritchie
The Kinsmen are, for the 24th time, offering up another Riverboat for raffle and lifetime member Jim Mackenzie is once again spending time hawking tickets for the draw. Jim has devoted his life to helping make Terrace a better place and has used the association of the good people in the Kinsmen Club to help make this happen.

The amount of time Jim spends selling tickets for fund raising events makes it a pretty good chance that he will have sold the winning ticket. Most weekends you will find him out in front of Canadian Tire, rain or shine.

In 2007 he sold the sold the winning ticket to 75 year young Terrace Resident Alice Ziemianski. We wrote about the 21st Annual Riverboat draw HERE.

In 2008, at the Fathers Day Show and Shine Car Show at Canadian Tire, the Kinsmen made their draw for the 18 foot Harbourcraft Riverboat. The winning ticket stub for this 22nd draw belonged to Mike Viveiros from Terrace. We wrote about this draw HERE.

The 23rd Annual Riverboat was won by Phillip Azak of Ayansh. A grandfather and father it was an exciting father’s day gift to be the lucky winner. Read the story posted on this win HERE.

There are numerous projects the Kinsmen work on for the community and all the funds they raise stay here. In 2007 Mr. Mackenzie focused on the construction of a Bocce Court up near the Terraceview Retirement complex. We posted a story on his supervision of the project HERE.
