The Regional District Kitimat Stikine (RDKS) elected Board members are meeting tonight at 7:00 pm in the Board room on the third floor at 4545 Lazelle Avenue tonight.
The current agenda has listed two presentations. The first is from Deputy Assessor, Bradley Lane from the BC Assessment Authority. He will be clarifying a complex method of assessing properties in groupings when they are owned by a single person or entity. The second presenter scheduled is Doug McLoed who will be speaking on behalf of the users of the MK Bay Marina. Many users have expressed concerns about the management of the Marina at Kitamaat Village. This Marina is owned by the Regional District Kitimat Stikine.
On the Supplementary Agenda, Dr. Norma Kerby, an instructor from Northwest Community College will present on a Biology Class project regarding Hurley Creek in Thornhill.
A Property in North Terrace is being presented for subdivision approval to the Planning Committee. The 31 ha parcel owned by Dawid and Mariana Janse Van Rensburg is being considered for a division into seven 4.05 ha lots. To do this they are asking to extend Freeman Road, which currently ends at the entrance to this property.
The RDKS Board considers all activities which take place within the boundaries except those areas confined withing municipal boundaries.
