An action forum will be held on Friday June 18 2010 from Noon to 5:30 at the Heath Unit Auditorium on Kalum Street. This forum will reveal the benefits of local food production to our economy, health and social well being and its’ impact on our carbon footprint in the Skeena Valley. Panellists will report some of the unique uses of such things as birch sap and weeds. While others will reveal the rich agricultural industry of our recent past. Stone soup will be shared and then an action packed afternoon will follow!!!
Be part of a movement to affect change by determining the scale to which we will choose to make the business and production of local food a focus of our community for the betterment of all. Bring a bowl, a spoon and any prepared ingrediant such as a diced onion, cut potatoe, left over rice. We will eat at 12:30 while listening to the panel presentations. The forum is hosted by Ksan Society and facilitated by SPARC BC. See you there.
