10 Exxon Valdez

As a footnote; The official estimate of the daily amount escaping from the pipe casing, before it was cut off to expose it to a larger diameter escapment, is now up to 40,000 barrel/day. The Exxon Valdez spilled 250,000 barrels. This means as of today, 53 days into the start of this disaster, the quantity of oil is approaching ten times the amount spilled by the Exxon Valdez. Experts are considering this to be a low estimate.
