REPORTING · 15th June 2010

Starting today, all movies and games at Movie Gallery are on sale. This all started off when the American side of the company went bankrupt. Due to this, all movie suppliers stopped sending new releases to all Canadian Movie Gallery's. Not too long after, the Canadian company also went bankrupt.

Now all stores are liquidating all of their products, with all movies and games on for 20% off their regular price. Our Terrace store began their liquidation sale this morning at 10 AM. They do not know when they will close their doors permanently, it could be in a week or in a month.

The walls are already starting to become bare, as well as the windows as all the signs have been taken down. This morning at 10 there were already around fifteen people looking for deals, hoping that they weren't already too late to find that movie or game they've been wanting.
The shelves are already becoming bare.

I am a frequent patron of Movie Gallery and hate to see it close. Now Terrace will be down to 1 movie rental store and 1 movie theatre. And like anything else in this town that closes, it is not likely anything else (better or otherwise) will replace it.
