Mike Price, from Safetek based in Abbotsford, put the first kilometers on Terrace's new toy. He arrived this morning to deliver Chief Peter Weebers dream. Weeber has worked on this aquisition taking a direct hand in ensuring the new truck was designed and equipped to meet the needs of the Terrace Fire Department.
The TFD members who took it out for test drives today report it drives like a dream, as easy to handle as a comfortable car.
Inside the cab, which features stylish comfortable seats, we found a control panel more like a commercial airliner. The GPS/computer screen was stationed near the driver and the switches for all the mechanical functions were accessable from both sides of the front seats.
This is a long awaited addition to the fleet of equipment for firefighting in the Terrace area. It is not in service yet as it needs to be equipped with various tools and accessories presently in use on the other trucks. It will also require a training period for the staff to familiarize themselves with.
It will be obvious to any who see it as being the new truck. It is longer, taller, more streamlined with uniquely designed roll cabinet doors.

Terrace Firefighters stated the truck handled like a car, solid easy braking and light turning at the wheel.
