TDRA - Chris Colborne
TDRA’s Summer Classics was a HUGE success. To compliment what turned out to be an incredible weekend of racing, we had the Skeena Valley Cruisers come out and participate in what we hope will continue to be a great event for years to come.
Best of show went to Bernie Duarte who took home a coveted trophy and $250 prize to boot.
Saturday’s races saw some fierce competition with all of our racers fighting for the King of the YXT and proving to be solid all day long the crown went to Shawn Enmark. Prince of the YXT (jr. Dragster’s King) Lou Ribeiro.
Giving the first round knockout’s a chance to win some of the glory we ran a Gambler’s on Saturday and Bruce Daum laid it all on the line to take the title. Sunday we broke into our bracket racing to continue in the points race.
Jr. Dragster’s top spot went to Tanner Daum, 2nd place went to Delaney Ribeiro and 3rd place went to Chris Cook one of the young guys racing for the first time this year doing a great job.
Next was our Bike and Sled class with the 1st place going to one of our most consistent and toughest riders Kevin Enmark. To add to the excitement it was a sibling rivalry with Kevin going against his brother Shawn Enmark who took 2nd place. 3rd went to John Symes who was also awarded the best motorcycle award of the year presented by the Roadrunners Motorcycle Club.
Next up was our Pro class, which is anyone running 7.35 and slower and 1st place was won by Harley Bell. Harley showed that staying consistent throughout the day meant business and he proved it on the track. 2nd place was awarded to another of our steady racers on the track Chris Bie. 3rd place went to Dwayne Adams who returned with new wheels after bit of a hiatus is sure to have caught the bug again.
Last but surely not least goes to the big boys of the show the Super Pro. 1st place went to one of our Mopar boys, Paul Amado, running his numbers all day long while making sure his kids are set and ready at the same time. 2nd place went to another of our fierce competitors, Kris Barnett and 3rd was awarded to Clint Dallavecchia who came out guns blazing this year looking to take the pack by storm.
One more honourable mention goes to Mike Weinhardt who took the 'OH SO' Coveted Dave Kester memorial, nailing the perfect light with a .500 reaction time.
A big thank you to everyone who made this weekend the success that it was, all the volunteers that worked hard all weekend long and of course to all the fans! We hope you guys had a great time and we’ll see you at Hot August Nights!
