The name of the deceased driver involved in this incident is that of Alfred Arthur Smythe, 30 years old, who lived in Terrace, but was originally from Gingolx (Kincolith) of the Nass Valley.
On Sunday, 2010-05-30, at 19:30hrs RCMP received a report of a single vehicle crash on West Kalum Forest Service Road near Terrace BC. Police and Emergency Services attended to the scene.
The vehicle, along with three passengers was located near the Kalum River. The three passengers were transported to hospital, for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Terrace RCMP along with Search and Rescue are continuing the search for the driver, which is being hampered due to high water levels. The BC Coroners Service has been notified. RCMP are currently not releasing the name of those involved pending further investigation.
On June 1, 2010 due to high water and low visibility the search for the driver had been concluded.
