Evan Jennings
This Saturday, July 10th marks the 36th Annual Memorial Race at the Terrace Speedway.

This year a memorial black flag lap will be run for Jannette Marie Vandenbroek by her husband. She passed away on June 29, 2010. Jannette was a regular competitor on the track for many seasons. She is survived by her husband, a daughter, 2 sons and 2 grandsons.

The Memorial Race is in memory of Drivers Marty Cox and Dexter Archibald who died in a tragic accident on the way back to Terrace from racing in Prince George in 1975. Every year since, including 1975, Terrace Speedway Racers have held this race to honour them and all others who have since passed away. To race in the Memorial, drivers need to have participated in at least 50% of the years races. Winning this event is held in a place of high esteem among the racers and the racing fans.
