For dog lovers living in homes or apartments that don't allow pets, have you ever thought of dropping into the Terrace Animal Shelter to walk a dog?

Many residence of Terrace having been getting their exercise by heading into the shelter, signing up as a volunteer and walking a dog that is up for adoption. Monday to Saturday from 12:30 to 4, you can take any of the dogs that are up for adoption for a walk.

Although spring is the busiest time for receiving animals, according to shelter employees, they are still busy during the summer. They currently are housing 27 cats and 3 dogs.

The shelter has been under the auspices of the City of Terrace since 2004 when it moved from Haugland Ave. to it's current location at the City works building on Graham Ave.

Shelter staff urge current owners of dogs and cats to follow the cities animal by-laws.
