UPDATE: The 3 on 3 basketball is start at around 4 PM today and running through the weekend. A schedule is attached below.
After a few years of absence from Riverboat Days, 3 on 3 Basketball is back. This time as the Pizza Hut Riverboat Days 3 on 3 Basketball Challenge.
This event is being brought to you by a new organizing team lead by the 12 year street ball tournament organizing veteran, Conrad B Lewis and Pizza Hut owner, Lana Hull.
This event may prove to be one of the main attractions this year as it is open to all ages and will be set outside Pizza Hut on Lazelle ave.
Thanks to the Prince Rupert Special Events Society, Lewis will be bringing brand new state of the art Spalding Fastbreak hoops, giving Terrace residents a chance to try them out.
"There has been quite a bit of interest in this," said Lewis.
Lewis noted that he is glad to be able to take some time off to work on this with Hull.
Lewis also commented that this will be a perfect event for the entire family and that he is bringing is own family to enjoy the tournament.
"It will be street ball at its finest," said Lewis, adding that it will be right out on the street that will be blocked off and not in a parking lot.
Registration fee is $40 per kid’s team and $60 per adult team. Teams may consist of 4 or 5 players, 5 players will be an alternate.
Half of the proceeds will be going to the R.E.M. Lee Hospital Foundation and the rest go towards prizing for the event.
