A beautiful display of art was taken in by guests this Friday at the Terrace Art Gallery, as the Annual Members' Exhibition kicked off in conjunction with the Riverboat Days celebrations.

Artists were present, mingling with the crowd, giving visitors the opportunity to inquire on pieces they found interesting.

The ambiance of the room facilitated moments of introspect as one looked at the outpouring of life whole heartedly laid out for all to see.

I had a moment to speak with artist Judy McClosky, a gallery member of several years. She talked about her joys of painting, working with textiles, fabric and photo collage and her transitions from one medium to another.

In the short time I was at the gallery, I can say that I enjoyed the exhibit just as much as those I have attended overseas. I am always delighted to see such creative and meaningful pieces from local artists showcased.

A display of the strength and vibrancy of our art community is something that I would recommend for everyone to experience.

The exhibit is open until August 28th, free of charge.

Gallery hours are:
12-4pm - Wed, Thurs, Sat
12-6pm - Friday
Closed - Sun, Mon & Tues
