The Thornhill Volunteer Fire Department recently opened it's doors for their annual open house event.
Community members flocked to the station to get a glimpse of the red fire trucks and all the equipment used to fight fires and save lives.
Excited kids got a chance to sit in the trucks. Visitors also got a look at the only ladder truck in the area. This particular ladder truck, with a fully extended ladder, can reach a height of 60 feet. Enough to give most grown ups shaky legs.
Firefighters were on hand to answer question and some even gave a helping hand to flip burgers for hungry guests. Astral Media staff were also on site with music pumping in the background from the radio station's vehicle.
The Thornhill Volunteer Fire Dept has been in operation since 1973.
