RCMP MAY HAVE YOUR MISSING STUFF
During the summer months of 2010, Terrace and the surrounding area experienced a substantial increase in the reports of residential and business break and enters. In response to the increase the RCMP conducted a complete review of all break and enters and initiated a coordinated investigation involving the members of General Duty, Crime Reduction Unit and General Investigation Section.
On Thursday August 19, 2010 the Terrace RCMP arrested a 38 year old male who was under surveillance on Sparks Street. The male was found in possession of items taken from at least three of the recent break and enters. The RCMP immediately secured the scene and obtained a search warrant to search the residence. The RCMP executed the search warrant at a residence in the 3700 block of Sparks and located a large volume of assorted items ranging from electronics, paintings, power tools, welding equipment, sporting equipment, motorcycle, fishing rods and tackle and other house hold items. These items have been seized and the RCMP are currently working to identify all owners of the items seized and return the items to the rightful owners. Several victims have already been contacted and claimed their recovered items.
The RCMP are continuing to investigate the possession of the stolen property and break and enters. The male arrested was released on conditions.
