NEWS RELEASE · 9th September 2010
Terrace and District Chamber
The Hiring Committee of the Board of Directors of the Terrace & District Chamber of Commerce engaged in a lengthy search and screening process to select a new Executive Director.
The Board is pleased to announce Carol Fielding has accepted the position and will start her duties later this week.
Ms. Fielding was the chairperson of the "Terrace is Hockeyville" committee where she galvanized residents, businesses and organizations in the successful community-wide effort.
Ms. Fielding has also shown her skills in community-based organizing in her role as the Local Olympic Torch run organizer and in the Kermodei Spirit of BC Community Committee.
What you might not know is that Carol is also passionate about motorcycles and has been a representative for Terrace with the BC Coalition of Motorcyclists. Like the Chamber of Commerce, the BCCOM offers benefits and discounts to its members, shares information and expertise, and relies solely on membership dues for its funding.
The Board is excited about her commitment to outreach, her proven track record of community-based leadership, and the enthusiasm she will bring to our organization.
