Saturday will begin like every other Saturday with the Skeena Valley Farmer’s Market. The end of the farmer’s market season is coming close so make sure to head on down. You can get fruits & vegetables, all types of food, homemade cookies & other treats, arts & crafts, and lots of other things. They just have to follow one simple rule: They must make, bake or grow it. So come see what the people in our region have to offer.

After a week of sunny weather like this, who knows how this weekend is going be, maybe we can all go out to the lake again.

Some of us will be out there anyways at 11 AM for the Lakelse “Mix Up” Dragonboating Regatta. The team practices are from 8 AM to 11 AM, which is when the opening ceremonies will begin. Racing will start at noon and run until 5 PM. Then the award ceremonies will commence, followed by a barbeque.

Later at 3 PM at the park, come celebrate “The Peace of Jerusalem”. There will be a guest speaker from Israel. Everyone is welcome to attend, remember to bring chairs.

That night at 9:30 PM, the Accelerators will take the stage at Georges in the Northern Motor Inn. Come out and enjoy some live entertainment.

On Sunday at 2 PM, the 2010 Demolympics will begin. There is lots of new events, as well as new draws and raffles. Wanting to have a smashing good time! Then head on down to the Terrace Speedway. For more info on this event, CLICK HERE

Both campfires and open fires are allowed once again. Remember though, to keep a shovel or at least 8 litres of water near to put your fire. Have a safe weekend!
