REPORTING · 20th September 2010
Merv Ritchie
UPDATED
According to both the Vancouver Canucks Official website and the NHL official website, the pre-season opener between the Calgary Flames and the Vancouver Canucks will be a double header feat of magic.

At 6pm PT (9pm ET) the puck will drop in Cow Town. Just one hour later the puck will drop in Lotus land between the same two teams.

It is the beginning of hockey season and Terrace is rumoured, (reported to us by a reliable reader), to be a featured hit as young resident and Hockeyville 2010 star, Maggie Ottenbreit, will be singing "O Canada' to kick off the pre-season, (or possibly a game during the season). None of the initial games are scheduled to be televised and we have not received confirmation yet from the Canucks, Ms. Rebeca Grant, the Game Presentation manager. We will keep you informed and update when we have the correct details. UPDATE - Ms. Rebeca Grant has confirmed young Ms. Ottenbreit will be singing to open Tuesday's game. The game can be watched online by following this link HERE. Tune in before 7pm Tuesday.

The truth about the magic act is both teams will be split into two squads for this season opener. See the Calgary Schedule below for the explanation.
