There is a 2 foot deep 30-40 foot long "hole" in the highway at the south end of Sand Lake. The drop to this excavation is very steep. A car traveling any quicker than a crawl will bottom out.
As of 7 pm the construction was very poorly signed - a small flag, a small "bump" and a small "pavement to gravel transition sign. Nothing that indicates the very real danger this construction presents.
I contacted Nechako when I got to Terrace about 7:30 pm this evening. They said they would send someone out.
This is a very dangerous situation which never should have happened.
