Northwest Science & Innovation
Northwest Science & Innovation (NSIS) is pleased to once again partner with Vancouver’s Science World and Northwest Community College to host the 6th Community Science Celebration in Terrace on Saturday, October 16th, from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm at the college.

Science World will bring their famous whacky approach to science education to Terrace, inspiring kids of all ages with live science demonstrations, hands-on activities, and make and take’s. Forget thick textbooks filled with complex equations and formulas, because for one day, Northwest residents will learn about science with pop bottle rockets, slime, balloons, and a steel ball that makes their hair stand on end!

NWCC, NSIS and other local organizations will also be showcasing the science and technology that’s happening here in our own backyard. The Science World road show crew will also be visiting 6 schools in Terrace and 2 schools in Hazelton during the week. Grade 11 and 12 students will have the opportunity to participate in Science World’s Opening the Door event on October 14 at Centennial Christian School, to learn more about science and technology careers.

This fun, free, family-friendly event is open to everyone! If your business or organization would like to participate with a science booth, please contact the NSIS office at 250-638-0950.

This event is part of the BC Ministry of Advanced Education’s Year of Science initiative, and is generously funded by the BC Government.
