Kim Penner is scooping up apples for Apple Fest. The Penner apples will be in a contest for best Terrace Apple for apple pie. The big news though is that the event is drawing near and looks like it will shape up to be a great day of fun for the whole family.
1 PM on Sunday, October the 3rd, the Arena Banquet room will open and Apple Fest will begin. There will be contests including littliest, greenest, smallest, reddest, biggest and most unusual apple and the one Kim has picked for. As well as a scarecrow contest for those of you who have no apples.
Get ready for some fun with games such as Apple Bowling and Bobbing. Come see how we have adjusted these for this event. We expect they will be games you may want to use later for your own party activity list.
In addition, drying, juicing and crafting with apples will be happening. Everything is free except for the tea and Candy Apples which will be available for a small fee. For those of you who like to sit and watch a tea or coffee will be served with an apple dessert for $2.
Outside an apple depot will be set up to sell local apples for $5 a box and if all goes well a petting zoo, so you can feed your apple leftovers to local sheep. rabbits or a goat.
Local musicians will be on hand to entertain and the Harvest Potluck dinner will follow at 5 PM.
All in all we think the day will be a fun hoe-down for the whole community.
