NEWS RELEASE · 1st October 2010
During the late lunch hour today, October 1, 2010, a tragic accident befell a young Terrace resident, Kyle . As has been reported to us by witnesses at the scene, he and three others were lifting and attempting to level an older house trailer in the Howe Creeke Mobile Home Park off of Straume Avenue.
Again, reported to us from witnesses at the scene, those with Kyle were his Grandfather Ron, the Park maintenance man, Vern and the owner of the property, Steve.
Kyle was sitting under the trailer while the others were working the jacks when the trailer toppled off of the blocks and posts, dropping the entire weight of the structure directly on top of him.
Emergency crews were called and responded within minutes. Police, Ambulance and Fire crews surrounded the site and worked feverishly to extract the young man.
He was finally pulled out from under the structure and raced to Mills Memorial Hospital. There is no official word on his condition however witnesses describe broken limbs and his life being in serious danger.
