CONTRIBUTION · 3rd November 2010
Darren Davies
Re-dated to November 3 from October 25 as a reminder. This is a great family event. The Terrace Professional Firefighters Local 2685 are on hand and will gladly accept a donation to their 'Burn Fund', but remember this is a completely free event. Bring down your pumpkin and add it to the collection.

In case you missed it, the last couple years we have been holding the annual Jack O' Lantern Festival at Ferry Island. We invite everyone to participate. Bring your Jack O' lantern down to Ferry Island Nov 1 -4.

We line them up and down each side of the lane behind the park gate. Each night a small crew of us go down and light them up for everyone to come and view.

It is quite spectacular with all the different imagination and time folks spend on carving their pumpkins. From first nations art, to characters, animals, spiders, witches to the classic triangle eyes and smile, there is something for everyone.

After the 4th we will have them collected to go to the dump so if you want some for your compost grab a few on the 5th for you garden.

Don't forget to bring your cameras as you will surely find inspiration for next year. Hope to see your Jack O' Lantern there, Darren.

Thanks "Save On Foods", Darren for taking on this endeavor to bring the Community together once again...and thx to the Professional FireFighters for being on hand as well.

Spearheading a Community event usually results in people appreciating the value of what they attend...which in turn = people feeling proud of where they live...which in turn = people tending to give back to the Community as a result.

Thanks for your efforts and most importantly for your example:)
