Terrace Little Theatre
Members of the Terrace Little Theatre are dancing as fast as they can to be ready for this Thursday's Opening Night of STEEL MAGNOLIAS.

A shorter than usual rehearsal period coupled with multiple challenges including an actor change reveal that the Little Theatre Club That Could can to rise to any occasion with style.

Stepping effortlessly into the role of Ouiser, the town terror is Julie Jacobs who was last seen on stage as neat freak Florence in THE ODD COUPLE: FEMALE VERSION. The cast is rounded out by Mary Ann Lawrence as Clairee (Mainstage 2006 Best Actress), Greer Kaiser as Truvy, Amy Turner as Annelle (Honourable Mention Best Supporting Actress Mainstage 2006), Heather Zanardo as Shelby and Debbie Haynes as M'Lynn (Best Supporting Actress Skeena Zone 2008; Best Actress Skeena Zone 2004).

The play is set entirely in Truvy's beauty parlor where the women meet every Saturday to get their hair done and, more importantly, indulge in the latest gossip and support each through thick and thin.

The set design has been a particular challenge for director Marianne Brorup Weston who declares that run-down abandoned buildings are her favourite setting. Nevertheless she has embraced the froufrou Southern hair salon set in a remodelled carport with glee and humour. Nancy Stone-Archer's lighting design bring a sparkle to the staging, supporting the feminine environment of these tough yet nice women. Tim Keenan's sound design draws us into the world of the 1980's with ease and grace.

The irrepressible tag-team of Judy McCloskey and Yvonne Warcup has created a marvellously detailed and personality-laden costume plot. They admit there may be no pink items left at the thrift stores because they are all at the McColl Playhouse!

Tickets for the show are available at Uniglobe Courtesy Travel for $15. Show time is 8.00 p.m. Thursday through Saturdays November 25th to December 11th.

NO LATE SEATING. No cell phones, cameras or flash, please.
