NEWS RELEASE · 14th January 2011
Mail delivery to some areas of Terrace has been temporarily suspended today. Letter carriers were unable to deliver mail to some areas of Thornhill and other addresses in the city today due to the severe weather conditions.
Canada Post will attempt to resume delivery on Monday to the affected areas.
Canada Post would also like to remind residents in Terrace to lend a hand and clear the ice and snow off walkways as soon as possible to prevent letter carriers and mail service couriers from being injured.
Customers can help by:
Shovelling walkways and driveways
De-icing paths to mailboxes,
Ensuring stairs and entranceways are in good, safe repair, and
Keeping the area in front of mailboxs clear of snow, ice and other debris.
Carriers’ safety is a priority at Canada Post. If the walkway or set of stairs is deemed to be dangerous, delivery could be interrupted until the situation is rectified.

Whatever happened to the old sayin that goes something like "through rain and wind and sleet and snow, the mail must get through."
