REPORTING · 4th February 2011
Merv Ritchie
It is the second time Villa 46 has been targeted for their liquor since they opened. The owner, Lance Dettwiler, reported seeing a group of males hanging around late in the evening Thursday so he stayed late. When he left he had a feeling his restaurant was going to be broken into and he was right. At approximately 5 am this morning Friday February 4, a rock was used to smash out the large front window.

The thief or thieves made off with half a dozen bottles of booze and escaped through the back door into the alleyway. The RCMP brought out the dog team in an effort to locate them but were unsuccessful according to Dettwiler.

Besides the mess, the rock and the glass, no other damage was done. The thieves simply unlocked and walked out the back door after grabbing the alcohol. Dettwiler believes there were two males who went through his restaurant. He took it in stride and parked out front in his van waiting for the sun to rise and the glass company to open for their business day.

Hey Lance buy one bottle of high end booze Make sure no one serves it ever and fill it full of menthol hydrate. You should have no more problem with those particular thieves again.

Well I'm sorry to see that Lance. The old spot for the HotHouse we had 13 windows broken over the 10 years there, all out of pocket expenses. Hope you have a busy day to help pay the cost of repair.
