CONTRIBUTION · 17th February 2011
Kinsmen Club of Terrace
On February 13 2011 the Kinsmen Club of Terrace held their 28th Annual Seniors Sweethearts Dinner and Dance. The Arena banquet room was filled to capacity with over 200 of Terrace's finest citizens. They were treated to a fine three course ham dinner by Victor Villeneuve and his team from Villeneuve Catering and danced the night away to the musical stylings of Rene Lucier & Friends. During dinner we were also treated to a wandering minstrel type performance by the Pacific Mist Singers. All absolutely free of charge.

This is the largest dinner the Kinsmen have hosted for the Seniors since moving to the arena from the Elks Hall in October when we held our First Annual Harvest Moon Dinner & Dance to honour our seniors and their contributions to our fine community.

The Sweethearts Dinner was started by the Kinnette Club of Terrace and was taken over by the Kinsmen 4 years ago. It started with 80 Seniors attending and has grown to over 200. For the Kinsmen, there is no better way to honour our seniors and is our most heart-warming project.

As always, an event of this magnitude could not be staged without help. The Kinsmen Club of Terrace would like to thank the following for their contributions to this one of a kind event;

The doctors of the Park Ave Medical clinic and local Dentists for donating funds in excess of $1500.00, Bob Broome ,,, Wine n' Suds for the donation of wine kits for our King & Queen of Hearts, Aqua Clear Bottlers for their cooler & jugs of water, the Best Western for the carafes, Tim Hortons for the emergency coffee, The City of Terrace for the donation of the banquet room and the Elks/OORP for the use of their kitchen and last, but certainly not least, the Senior Citizens of our fine community. Without all of you, this dinner would not have been the immense success it was.
