REPORTING · 17th March 2011
Merv Ritchie
The Terrace Daily received email communications yesterday evening asking about the secret firing/resignation of Terrace’s long term Fire Chief and after numerous calls we were able to confirm, though not officially but through independent sources, his sudden resignation was accepted last Wednesday, March 9, 2011.

Weeber was a very public face for Terrace and participated in numerous community efforts and events the latest being the BC 2010 Winter Games and the “Fill The Bank” food bank drive last October. He worked with his firefighters for two years to secure a new Firefighting Engine, which Terrace took delivery of in June last year.

It is curious how today, a week after this apparent sudden resignation, and more than two days after the sitting of Terrace’s City Council the Terrace Administration has not informed the media or the public of this significant event in Terrace’s top executive, and arguably the most public figure of the City’s staff.

As dawn arrives this morning, as this breaking news is picked up by the other media in Terrace and as the City of Terrace is probed for more information, we are sure more details will become available.
