NEWS RELEASE · 23rd March 2011
The BC Cancer Agency Centre for the North's lobby atrium is starting to take shape! The three feature beam posts that are part of the atrium have now been installed. In addition, work has begun on the outside wood canopy which marks the front entrance of the centre.
The Centre for the North will bring radiation therapy service to the North for the first time when it opens in late 2012. The new facility is a key part of the Northern Cancer Control Strategy, a joint partnership between the BC Cancer Agency, the Provincial Health Services Authority, and Northern Health.
The strategy is focused on enhancing the continuum of cancer services across the North, including prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, and patient support.
