Global Bio Coal Energy
David Austin, CEO of Global Bio-Coal Energy Inc. (GBCE), a Vancouver-based company, announced today that an internationally recognized engineering firm, Noram Engineering and Constructors has been contracted to complete basic engineering and finalise the design specification of the Terrace Biocoal Ltd. facility.
Noram, since 1988, has built a global reputation for innovation and excellence in the supply of proprietary engineering and equipment packages to the chemical, pulp and paper, minerals processing and electrochemical sectors.
Noram’s six specialized business groups have completed capital projects on five continents. It is recognized worldwide as a leader in the fields of nitration, sulphuric acid and electrochemistry.
Apart from the engineering, Noram will also oversee construction of the biocoal production facility in Terrace.
“We are pleased to have an engineering firm of this calibre participating in the Terrace project,” said Mr. Austin. “A tentative start date for construction of the plant is May 2011. This, however, is subject to change depending upon engineering and related issues.”
The partnership with Coast Tsimshian Resources remains intact and continues on track with the development noted Mr. Austin.
In other developments, GBCE has secured a long-term off-take agreement with Vitol Broking.
“This means we can take as much biocoal as can be produced in B.C. at international prices. As a result of this, we are considering construction additional biocoal facilities in the Northwest and other parts of the province.”
