Caleb Courtney works on the new wheelchair ramp for Ksan community kitchen programs

Its almost 3 months and the old Osborne Guest House is once again changing its face. The building, which once used to feed and house the military in the early 1900's, is getting a much needed renovation.

'Out comes' the numerous rooms used over the past decade as shelter rooms and 'in comes' a large food preparation area to support Ksan's effort to combate local food security.

In order to make food programs accessible to all, Ksan is building this space wheelchair accessible. The construction includes a ramp, wider doors and a handicap washroom.

As funds disappear Ksan is now appealing to the community for support. $65,000 was committed to the project $55,000 from Ksan's Capital fund and a $10,000 grant from New Horizons to build a community kitchen. That money was quickly used up as old building issues surfaced and needed to be attended to.

Now we need your help. If you can volunteer your time or would like to make a donation you will enable this project to be completed. Call Diana Penner 250-638-1626 to help complete this worthwhile project.
