Skeena Diversity Society is hosting their first Diversity Health Fair thanks to a funding grant received from AMSSA (Affiliation of Multicultural Societies and Service Agencies of British Columbia). The objective of the Fair is to promote health and health care resources for the Terrace Community, with an emphasis on Immigrants: thereby removing potential barriers to health care which newcomers to Terrace often find.
The Diversity Health Fair takes place on Saturday, June 18th 11:00am-4:00pm at the Skeena Mall, in the former Northern Drugs location.
The Fair will feature over thirty exhibitor booths with a variety of health-related information and activities, health screenings and food demonstrations. Families with children will appreciate an interactive hands-on family corner. Excercise/dance demonstrations will take place very half hour in the Community Room. There is no cost to attend.
Please contact Skeena Diversity Society online at if you are interested in promoting your health services or volunteering.
The Diversity Health Fair will begin with an opening ceremony on Friday, June 17th at 7:00pm. This event will take place at the Evangelical Free Church.
The evening program will include words of support from local dignitaries, musical performances, and an interactive panel of local experts who will explain different aspects of health services and how to navigate it. There will be time for questions. For more information please contact Jill.
