BC Conservative Party
John Cummins, Leader of BC’s Conservatives, is not surprised that another high profile Liberal is leaving the Christy Clark team just 6 months after being dropped from Cabinet.
"I want to thank Mr. Black for his service as MLA to the people of Port Moody-Coquitlam, and to the people of British Columbia as a Cabinet Minster.
“Mr. Black is the second high-profile Liberal to leave Premier Christy Clark’s team in a week. With a fall election looking more and more likely, I can only imagine who is going to jump ship next.
"The BC Conservatives look forward to giving the people of Port Moody-Coquitlam the option of a strong Conservative voice in Victoria whenever the Premier calls a by-election. The Tri-Cities is one of the fastest growing areas of BC. The citizens of the Tri-Cities deserve a strong voice in Victoria, which is obviously something the Premier doesn't believe."
