Election day is Saturday, November 19, 2011
Every three years Municipal Elections are held for Mayor and Council. Candidates are voted in for a three-year term and the next Election will be held on November 19, 2011. In Terrace voters will be selecting a Mayor and 6 Councillors.
If you want to run for either of these positions in Terrace the papers/documents are available at the front desk at the Terrace City Hall. They need to be filled in and returned before 4 pm on October 14, 2011. (The first day they can be returned is October 4)
Currently the Mayor is David Pernarowski. The six Councillors are Lynn Christiansen, Carol Leclerc, Brad Pollard, Brian Downie, Bruce Martindale and Bruce Bidgood.
To be qualified to be nominated and elected you need to be
1) Canadian citizen;
2) 18 years of age or older on General Voting Day;
3) Resident of B.C. for at least 6 months immediately before the day nomination papers are filed;
4) Are not disqualified by the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in an Election in B.C. or from being nominated for, being elected to, or holding office.
Nominations for qualified candidates will be received during regular business hours, Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays, at the office of the City Clerk, Terrace City Hall, 3215 Eby Street, Terrace, B.C. during the period 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 4, 2011 to 4:00 p.m., Friday, October 14, 2011.
Nomination documents are available at the City of Terrace Municipal Hall during regular business hours.
NO NOMINATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER 4:00 P.M., FRIDAY, October 14, 2011.

I Blocky Bear, A.K.A. Don Bruce will file papers to put my name forward for Mayor of the city of Terrace if I receive endorsement from 12 go0od women/men to help with my candicy. d.b.
