We will still have to approve the submission therefore the post will not appear automatically.
All Candidates must include their email and phone number so we can confirm it is your submission, not someone impersonating. Please ensure we can contact you. The submission will not appear until we do.
Is this where we can post questions to candidates?

Great start to some very interesting debates, and it's great to be able to already read about some of the candidates who are running!
I have a burning question for candidates:
What about the second CN crossing in Terrace???
Hasn't it been two years since the Americans who bought our national railroad massively increased the length of the trains that roll back and forth through our city holding us hostage while providing nothing to us in return? It is so frustrating to see the great success of the port in Prince Rupert has come at the expense of citizens of Terrace who are trying to get to work or home for lunch on their limited break. Living on the south side has become unbearable due to trains clogging up the Kenney street crossing at 8:30, 12:00 noon, 4:30 pm on Thursdays Fridays, Sundays, and every other day at various times. (I don't know the exact times but I do know they often come at the prime times when people would be trying to go to or from work). The only option is the Sande overpass which is terribly unequipped for line ups of cars waiting and waiting and then taking dangerous risks while young parents pushing strollers across the crosswalks nearly get run over by drivers fed up from waiting with no traffic control at that intersection at all.
I thought part of the deal of selling off our national railway and letting the Americans tred all over us so they can have their cheep walmart merchandise and cell phones was that CN would have to pitch in a good part of the costs and build another safe crossing that would not be affected by their endless trains moving back and forth at a snails pace??? So where is our crossing? Who is holding CN accoutable because I can assure you they wont take any steps to fork out the money to build something for us... we are just a little bump in the road to them. So what would candidates do to ensure we have reasonable and safe access to both sides of our city without being held hostage by the american rail tycoons?
Thanks in advance for your replies.

You will find a couple of your answers on the municipal elections page. Hope that helps.

I hope all candidates take full advantage of this section. It will greatly increase our understanding of the issues affecting Terrace and the candidates' stance on those issues. Hopefully it will ensure more people participate in the electoral process through better and more accessible information.
I especially like the fact that the articles will be coming "from the horses' mouth", so to speak, and not skewed by a reporters' misunderstanding or biased writings.
Good luck to all candidates.
