National Child Day
National Child Day comes around every year on November 20th. On this day, Canada commemorates the signing of United Nations Declaration of the Rights of the Child (1959) and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989), spelling out the basic human rights for children and youth.
It is a day to support children's rights by educating our children about their rights and voicing our concerns about any violations. It is also an opportunity to spend time with children, celebrating their gifts, their potential.
Terrace Make Children First Network and Success by 6 Northwest are yet again coming together to sponsor free swim and skate for families:
National Child Day - Sunday, Nov 20 at the Terrace Sportsplex:
1:00 - 4:00 pm children's activities at the Banquet Room
2:00 – 5:00 pm free swim
2:30 - 4:15 pm free skate
Everyone can pick up one ticket for free hot chocolate
Spend a great afternoon having fun together & being active.
This year’s National Child Day comes on the heels of the civic election. Can we make Terrace a more child & youth friendly city? Let’s make that commitment together, there is no better way. See an attachment below: Prosperous Society is one in which...
